What is sui juris?

Sui juris means appearing on your own behalf—without an attorney. You’re responsible for filings, deadlines, and presenting evidence. Success comes from calm process, clean paperwork, and a solid paper trail.

  • Keep everything in writing (emails/letters). Recap conversations the same day.
  • Use short, factual statements—no rants, no insults, no speculation.
  • Calendar every deadline. Bring copies of all exhibits.

Quick Start

  1. Outline: Facts → Issue → Law → Ask (relief you want).
  2. Collect exhibits: label them (A, B, C…) and cite them in your motion.
  3. Draft your motion; keep it under clear headings; sign and date.
  4. Serve the other side as rules require; keep proof of service.
